PNG2ObjV3 Released, Convert PNGs to 3D Printable OBJ or SVG Files

After years of quietly evolving in the background, I’m finally sharing a tool I wrote to solve a very specific need, turning pixel artwork and PNGs into physical 3D prints, layered SVGs, or sprite-cut outputs.

The tool started as a simple script to automate my CAD workflow for tributes and charity prints. It’s grown to include:

  • Layered, flat, or tower-style .OBJ output
  • Optical illusion .SVG generation
  • Support for MAPED mount frames
  • Sprite sheet slicing
  • Material .MTL generation

It’s cross-platform, written in Python, and fully documented with a PDF manual and sample image pack.

This tool is free for personal/non-commercial use under a modified MIT license. If it helps your project, I’d love to see what you make with it.
